瑪利亞書院於一九七六年創立。創校目的是希望為香港社會基層人士提供機會，讓他們透過教育改善生活環境及質素。

Maria College was founded in 1976. It aimed at providing opportunities for the grassroots to have a second chance to continue their studies so as to strive for better living.
